Our exclusive Cuvée 3D is a firm favourite and one of our biggest selling wines of all. It is consistently fresh and balanced with lovely lemony fruit coupled with toasty richness. We also offer a top of the range Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs vintage, which is quite rare and offered in distinctive bottles called sacres.

Champagne Vintage 2013
One of our most popular wines and with good reason! A high proportion (over 70%) of Chardonnay grapes are used in the exclusive 3D blend, sourced from the small but famous vineyards in the Côte des Blancs. They provide a minerality and liveliness to the wine. The rest of the blend is made up of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Around 25% reserves were used from previous vintages, which adds a degree of richness and roundness to the final assemblage.
This luxury cuvée is something of a rarity! It is made from 100% Chardonnay from the famous village of Le Mesnil in the Côte de Blancs. It is a Grand Cru and also a vintage – making it very special indeed! It has aromas and flavours of tightly knit orchard fruits such as greengage and limes intermixed with linden and roasted nuts. It can age wonderfully well, developing complex stone fruit and toasty nuances over a decade. Very stylish indeed.
Vintage is the ultimate expression of champagne; made from the very best grapes from a single year. This is is a delicious blend of 80% Chardonnay, mainly from the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The balance is Pinot Noir from Vincelles. It has attractive and delicate aromas leading to a fresh, uplifting palate with richness and complexity and a fine, creamy texture. Drink now or over the next 5-7 years. Try it with sushi or crab.
The Fresne family have been making champagne in the village for seven generations. However, it wasn’t until after World War II that they began to produce and market their own label. Pierre took over the operations from his father in January 2007 after studying oenology in Épernay and doing vintages in Burgundy and New Zealand. His champagnes combine elegance with a certain richness and depth.
Champagne Fresnésie Vintage 2011
Champagne Brut Origine NV 2011
The vintage Champagne Fresnésie is based predominantly on Pinot Noir which thrives in the Reims region. It is has a lovely richness and depth as well as having a very fine and creamy mousse. The citrus and orchard fruit flavours reverberate and linger in the mouth and lead to a long mineral infused finish. Will age for a decade or more.
The Brut Origine is a Blanc de Noirs as it is made from 100% Pinot Noir and Meunier. It is also a Premier Cru champagne that has had three years ageing on the lees, which is longer than most non-vintage champagnes. This extended ageing gives the Brut Origine a deepish colour as well as a very fine, creamy mousse (or bubbles). It is elegant with crisp apple and pear fruit and a pleasing toasty richness from the extended lees contact. There is also a seam of chalky minerality in the long finish.
The hotels, chambres d’hôtes and gîtes we recommend in Champagne are all personally known to us and are where we stay when we visit our winemakers. They have been selected because they are convenient for the vineyards, offer a warm welcome and provide good value for money within their category.
