We have been searching for a new Chablis producer who can offer the 3D dimensions of excellent wine, excellent visit experience and engaging people to meet. It is not always easy to find these three dimensions in such a world famous place as Chablis. However we are delighted to say that we have now found an excellent new partner vineyard, Domaine Vrignaud. This domaine is based in the pretty village of Chablis-près-Fontenay, just north of Chablis town itself. The domaine and the winemakers encapsulate many of the ideals that are important to us.
It is a 24-hectare domaine run by Guillaume Vrignaud, a fifth generation vigneron at Domaine Vrignaud. He has been operating organically for over six years and owns some excellent parcels in the Petit Chablis, village Chablis and Premier Cru appellations (including Fourchaume). His wines are beautifully made and are crisp, clean and modern, yet full of Chablis typicity. Due to extended ageing on the lees as well as skilful winemaking, their wines exhibit lovely concentration and minerality too.
We look forward to offering their wines from 2015. They feature in the Burgundy North region.
